The Cohousing Association of the United States (Coho/US) and Abraham Paiss & Associates (APA) intend to reach an agreement in which APA would transfer its Elder Cohousing Network to Coho/US.
Elder Cohousing Website and URL
Under that agreement, Coho/US will use the content of the Elder Cohousing Network website to create a new Aging in Community section of the Cohousing Website. Once complete, APA will terminate the Elder Cohousing Network website and redirect all web traffic to the Elder Cohousing Network URL to this new section. APA will subsequently transfer registration of this URL should the agreement be continued.
Elder Cohousing Database
APA will also provide Coho/US with a subset of the Elder Cohousing Network contact database. The provided list will be de-duped by Coho/US and new names will be added to the Coho/US contact database, with appropriate tagging to enable those names to be accessed as contacts with an interest in aging issues.
Our Intentions
Both parties intend to agree on specific terms to make this possible, but full terms are yet to be settled. The ultimate agreement is expected to provide the basis for a productive, equitable relationship that enables APA, as well as other professionals, to sustain and grow their efforts to provide goods and services to those interested in aging in community, including Senior and Elder Cohousing.
The Coho/US Board, Staff, and the APA Principles, Neshama Abraham and Zev Paiss are all excited about the opportunities this change is expected to generate... for both organizations, for other cohousing professionals, for the cohousing movement, and, most importantly, for adults that hope to be or are already aging in community.
